Enugu State Government House

The Enugu State Government, like every other state government in Nigeria is made up of three arms: the executive arm, the legislative arm and the judicial arm. The executive arm of the Enugu State government is headed by an elected governor who can appoint commissioners as heads of the various ministries of the state government. The current governor of Enugu State is Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

 

Enugu State House of Assembly

The legislative arm of the Enugu State Government which sits at the Enugu State House of Assembly is made up of 25 members elected by the people of the 25 state constituencies of Enugu State. The Enugu State House of Assembly is headed by a speaker who is thus the legislative head of the Enugu State Government. The current speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly is Edward Ubosi.

 

Enugu State Judiciary

The judicial arm of the Enugu State Government is headed by the Enugu State’s chief judge. The current chief judge of Enugu State is Justice Ngozi Emehelu

Enugu East senatorial zone of Enugu state has 6 local government areas. The 6 local government areas of Enugu East senatorial district are:

  • Nkanu East
  • Nkanu West

Enugu North senatorial zone of Enugu state has 6 local government areas. The 6 local government areas of Enugu North senatorial zone are:

  • Igbo Etiti
  • Igbo Eze North
  • Igbo Eze South
  • Nsukka
  • Udenu
  • Uzo Uwani

Enugu West senatorial district has 5 local government areas. The 5 local government areas of Enugu West senatorial district are:

  • Aninri
  • Awgu
  • Ezeagu
  • Oji River
  • Udi
